WELCOME
The Peer Coach Program at Utah Tech University (UT) is designed to help first-year students transition into college life. Our goal is to assist every first-year student as they adapt to this new chapter in their life by working one-on-one with each student. Students involved in the Peer Coach Program can expect individualized support plans that highlight good time management skills, effective study strategies, getting involved, connection, utilizing campus resources, and managing stress.
Our Peer Coach Team is comprised of forty current UT students with representation from all seven colleges at the university. The Peer Coaches have demonstrated that they know what it takes to be successful in college and work with first-year students to ensure that they have the skills and resources necessary to be effective during their time at UT. Our Peer Coaches come from all walks of life and have unique perspectives gained through experience that have taught them valuable lessons necessary to get the most out of the college experience. Furthermore, every Peer Coach genuinely cares about each students’ success and will work tirelessly to see that every student finds a place at UT.
We realize that coming to college brings a new set of expectations and challenges that our students may or may not be fully prepared to navigate. UT’s Peer Coach Program ensures that every student has a support system and a mentor readily available on campus!
